Toy library has new home

Benalla’s Toy Library has found a new home at the Drill Hall Community Activity Centre on the corner of Bridge and Arundel St.

The toy library will open this Friday, March 17.

Opening hours will be Fridays and Saturdays from 9.30am to 11am.

It will be open all school holidays except Christmas/summer holidays.

Membership joining and renewing fee is $50 a family with one child and $65 a family with two-plus children.

Family daycare/playgroup membership is $100.

Grandparent/carer $5 for an occasional borrow.

Memberships are now due.

There is also a $20 duty levy. When a member completes one duty 9.30am to 11am per each school term (four per year), a duty levy of $20 will be refunded on February 1 of the following year.

Members can borrow two toys and two puzzles or games per child.

There is a large range of puzzles, games, costumes, scooters, ride-on toys, play kitchens, doll houses, outdoor toys, musical instruments, construction sets and more.

Toys can be borrowed for up to two weeks and renewed for a further two weeks if desired.

Party packs including tables, chairs and party games are available for hire for birthday parties.

The new premises has improved accessibility with a large car park, pram access and toilet facilities.
