Outstanding Health Student Award winner Natalee Coad with GOTAFE Executive Manager Louise Pearce

Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE celebrated the success of their students last week with an Awards Recognition Ceremony held at the GOTAFE Benalla Campus.

The event recognised students who successfully completed their studies in 2016 within the services sector including Business, IT, Art and Design, Sport and Recreation, Community Services and Health.

Natalee Coad was awarded the Outstanding Student Award for successfully completing Diploma of Nursing (HLT51612).

‘‘Natalee started her Diploma of Nursing part-time at Benalla in July 2014 after completing the VETiS (Vocational Education and Training in Schools) program with GOTAFE and Benalla Health,’’ GOTAFE health team leader Catherine Conrick said.

‘‘Throughout the course, Natalee’s written work has been of a consistently high standard.

‘‘Feedback from clinical placements has been that she was an enthusiastic team player who interacted well with staff, clients and patients with a commitment to a high level of competency with nursing interventions.

‘‘She has showed maturity in dealing with speed bumps along the way.’’

Natalee plans to continue studying nursing at university.

GOTAFE executive manager for services industries Louise Pearce was excited to catch up with the students to find out where their training had taken them.

‘‘We are excited to see these newly qualified students enter the local workforce and use their skills to better the community,’’ Ms Pearce said.

‘‘GOTAFE is dedicated to providing regional students with access to unique programs, facilities and pathways to university.’’

This event is one of a series held throughout the region this March.
