SES Benalla’s new rescue truck is already paying back the generous grant and community donations that funded it.
Since the grand unveiling took place on Wednesday, August 30, it has already been called into action several times.
SES Deputy Controller Sarah Ford said SES members used the new truck to attend several storm incidents.
‘‘We had a couple of trees down and the members who took it out were very happy with it,’’ Ms Ford said.
‘‘We then had a building damage job to attend and found that it’s been very easy to use’’
Community clubs and groups in Benalla played a major role in securing the vehicle through donations.
The Rotary club, Triathlon club, RSL, Evergreen Ladies Group, CWA, Benalla Holy Trinity and the Lutheran church of Benalla were some of the groups who donated.
