Spring has sprung at Benalla Golf Club, which attracted an improved field of players contesting a stableford event.

Sixty-nine players competed, with Knox Willis successful in A-grade, returning 36 points. Runner-up was Mark Henwood, also on 36.

B-grade went to Reggy Symes with the best score for the day of 42, from Ray Wittingslow on 37. In C-grade, Bob Munro returned 37 from Michael Donnelly on 36.

Wednesday attracted 25 players for a stableford event. This allowed for one grade, which was won by Gavin Harrison on 38. Runner-up was Trevor Woolcock on 36.

RESULTS: Nearest the pins: 8th Srixon/Golf Shop: John Spencer, 12th Ray White: Graham Briggs, 13th Spalding/Golf Shop: Brian Hubble.

KFC birdies: Lachlan Thompson. NAGA: Michael Devlin.
