The cast of Seussical the Musical performed a sneak preview at a recent school assembly.

There is great excitement at Benalla P-12 College as staff and students prepare for their upcoming Seussical the Musical production, which will be held in October at BPACC.

Principal Barbara O’Brien is pleased to announce that Benalla P-12 College will be holding the production on October 18 and 19.

‘‘We are fortunate to have Melinda Pentreath involved as our production director,’’ Ms O’Brien said.

‘‘There has been a lot of enthusiasm around the campus with more than 100 students putting their names down to participate in the production.

‘‘Auditions for roles and rehearsals have started and Melinda has been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and eagerness of the students involved.’’

Tahlia MacFarlane-Auld has been cast as the Cat in the Hat and is excited to be involved.

‘‘This is the first production I have ever been in, I was really nervous at first, but I am building confidence every day and can’t wait to perform at BPACC, it will be really exciting,’’ Tahlia said.

Star Beavis plays a judge in the performance and hopes the role will be valuable experience and help her towards her dream of becoming a professional actress.

‘‘I have been in a few productions before and love acting. I hope to be an actress one day,’’ she said.

The production crew, including the stage manager, props, make-up and costumes have a student leader allocated who will be guided by Melinda throughout the production.

Students performed a sneak preview of the musical at recent whole school assembly to the delight of attendees.

Ms O’Brien said it would be a wonderful event for Benalla P-12 College and organisers looked forward to seeing all parents and families support the production in October.
