Goorambat’s dance for art

The silo art at Brim has been a huge success and drawn visitors to the town.

Goorambat is the latest Aussie town to be given the opportunity to have its silos decorated with amazing street art.

The Goorambat and District Community Group has been tasked with raising $10000 towards the project, which will be part of the 2018 Wall to Wall Festival.

The town is already the location of popular mural Sophia, which adorns the wall of the Uniting Church.

That artwork has been extremely effective in drawing visitors to the town and it is hoped that the proposed silo art will also be a big attraction.

The first fundraiser aimed at kick-starting the goal of reaching $10000 will be the ‘‘Feel the Beat’’ rock ’n’ roll dance, which is part of this year’s Benalla Festival.

The event will be held at the Goorambat Hall in Halls Rd on Friday from 8pm to midnight.

A range of ‘‘good vibrations’’ in live music will be performed by Geoff and Donna McClure throughout the night.

Entry is $20 per head and includes a county supper, children under 16 are free and drinks will be available at the bar.

Tickets can be purchased from the Goorambat Post Office or from Leading Edge Books in Benalla.
