Benalla Golf Club’s A-grade winner last week was John Spencer, with Peter Hazell settling for second.

Last Wednesday at the club, a stableford event was held with 56 players.

Spencer recorded an excellent score of 44 points, while Hazell recorded 40.

Peter Purcell took out B-grade with score of 44 from Alan May on 43.

C-Grade winner was Boyd Macarty on 41, placing Graeme Ellis second on 40.

On Saturday 53 players competed in a stableford event with excellent scores in all grades.

A-Grade winner with 43 was Tim Symes — runner up on 42 was Les Thompson.

In B-grade Bernie Vandenakker was the winner with 43 from Paul Hooper on 41.

Ray Jensen was successful in C-grade with 43 placing Boyd Macarty second on 41.

Women’s golf

A stableford, played on Oaks Day with 20 participants, was won by Hazel Briggs with a score of 42 points.

Division two’s winner was June Shennan with 43 points.

The November Tournament ladies’ stroke was played on 14th November. Division 1 scratch winner Hazel Briggs 84 gross, handicap winner Jenny O’Brien 90(16)74 nett.

Division 2 scratch winner Marion Cowan 95 gross, handicap winner Trish Miskin 100(27)73 nett.

The closing day event, which was washed out last week will be played this Thursday.

The Chicken Run is under way on Tuesdays from now on.
