Funding for three Benalla area groups was approved at the Benalla Rural City Finance and Operations Committee meeting last Wednesday.
The Lurg Hall Committee will receive $500 to fund the purchase of equipment for the Lurg Community Christmas celebration.
Waminda Neighborhood House have also had $500 approved, which will go towards funding the Waminda and Salvation Army ‘‘Carols by Candlelight’’ event, which was held at BPACC last Saturday.
The Big Valley Quarter Horse Association requested funding to assist with their three-day event. which will be held in January, they will also receive $500.
The funding comes from Benalla Rural City Council’s Community Sponsorship Program (CSP), the aim of which is to enable local groups, clubs and organisations to address the needs of the community.
The council has allocated $15000 for the CSP 2017/2018 and these program take the current spending to $7117.
