On Saturday a stableford event sponsored by the GMCU had 68 players competing.
It was also the fourth round of the Purdeys Putter competition.
The best score of the day was recorded by C-grade winner Ray Jensen with 42 points, closely followed by runner up Norm Brosnam with 41 points. A-grade was won by Trevor Squires on 41 points, just beating Phil Donges on 40 points.
B-grade was won on countback by Blair Ferguson from Adrian Papworth with both players scoring 38 points.

Last Wednesday 56 players competed in a stableford event. The equal best score for the day and winner of C-grade was Graham Briggs with 41 points. Runner up also with 41 points on countback was Jim Hanlon, a visitor from GSM golf club. The winner of A-grade was Phil Donges scoring 38 points, with Gavan Crothers runner up with 37 points. The B-grade winner was Tyrone Kidd with 36 points on countback from Paul Hazell also with 36 points.

The prestigious Purdeys Putter event is reaching an exciting climax. The event, which is played over six rounds of Stableford, has two rounds to go. The early leader was Dave Dunster, who had two red-hot rounds in 40-degree heat, but other serious contenders are making a concerted charge. Turf Manager and ace golfer Xavier Palamarczuk is closing in with a gutsy performance, along with Graeme Sykes, Adrian Papworth and Tim Symes.
The final two rounds of Purdeys Putter will be played the next two Saturdays, February 16 and 23.
Women’s golf
A stroke round with monthly medal was played on Thursday, February 7, with 14 players.
Division one winner was Marion Cowan with 97/22/75. Division two winner was Katrina Bailey with 102/23/79.

Winner of the nine holes competition was V. Nicholas with 18 points and runner-up was J. Shennan with 16 points.
Monthly medal winner was Marion Cowan with 75 nett.
On Saturday, February 11, a stableford round was played with 22 players.
Division one winner was Jo Martin with 39 points, while Coral Day won division two with 35 points.
