The Benalla community has an opportunity to have a say in the management of Victoria’s forests.

Public submissions are now open for the third five-yearly review of the five Victorian Regional Forest Agreements (RFAs).

State member for Euroa Steph Ryan said the purpose of the RFAs were to balance and protect all environmental, social, economic and heritage values that Victoria’s forests offer, now and into the future.

‘‘Public feedback is an important part of the process of ensuring the RFAs are working and, if not, what needs to be adapted to ensure they are fulfilling their purpose,’’ Ms Ryan said.

‘‘A progress report on the implementation of the RFAs between 2014 and 2019 is now available online for public consideration and feedback.

‘‘All public feedback will be given to the independent reviewer who will provide a report for the Victorian and Australian Governments, taking into account the progress of the agreement, along with all submissions.

‘‘Everyone is welcome to have their say and I encourage any interested parties to consider making a submission.’’

Submissions close Monday, January 29, at 5pm.
