The first rehearsal of the Benalla Theatre Company’s production of Nunsense II: The Second Coming was held this week.

At the rehearsal cast members introduced themselves and excitement filled the air as, not only the show, but the theatre company came together.

The production involves an eclectic group with a variety of people from different walks of life.

The cast and crew are a dynamic mix of younger and older people.

Many have years of experience in theatre and those who are on stage with BTC for the first time bring a freshness to the production.

All performers and the crew are working together to help make the show a success.

Nunsense II is filled with hilarious moments as the Little Sisters of Hoboken put on a thank you show for audiences for their support in the past, including a bingo game, the Catholic Guide to Gift Giving and much singing and dancing.

Songs with titles such as We’re the Nuns to Come to When You Go What Would Elvis Do? and The Padre Polka will have audiences laughing along.

Leading the nuns is Mother Superior Mary Regina, played by Molly Craig, Mistress of Novices, Sister Mary Hubert played by Debbie Patterson, Dianne Feldtmann undertaking the role of Sister Amnesia, Mary-Ann Jolly plays streetwise Sister Robert Anne and newcomer Monique Hillenaar is the novice Sister Mary Leo.

The show will be performed at BPACC during two weekends from May 11 to 19, with three matinees including a special performance on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13.

●Tickets are available from BPACC at www.bpacc.com.au by phoning 57625515 or at the box office.
