The weekly game of scrounge has suffered lately due to the COVID-19 restrictions then a fortnight of wet weather that caused cancellations.
However, the day may come when all is better - we pray.
The bowlers enjoyed the ten-week series of scrounge with several great performances.
The best attendance award was shared by three bowlers in Phillip Cunnington, Andy Harris and Russell Shawcross with nine games.
The most points accrued went to Cunnington on 398 points ahead of Harris on 389.
Next best included Shawcross (385), Jim Harris (325), Ray Hanson (324), Graham Turner (322), Denise Gilmore (317), Jerome Shaw (271), John van den Bosch (262) and Tom Davis (241), rounding off the top 10.
The best average (five game minimum) was Hanson (46.2), Turner (46), Shaw (45.8), Cunnington (44.8) and Andy Harris (43.5).
Notable performances from bowlers playing less games included Ivan Hicks (217 points - 54.3 average) from Norm Hodge (128 - 42.6).
The club wish to thank all bowlers who supported the 10-week series and acknowledge the effort from Kevin Humbert and Les Brereton in having the green rolling in superb fashion.
Hopefully the game of scrounge will continue in some format under the current COVID-19 restrictions, with play to commence at 1.00pm each Wednesday.
Members will be looking forward to finding what decisions will transform in regard to the forthcoming CVBD Pennant season.
At the moment there is some conjecture as to whether the season will commence before or after the Christmas-New Year break with a shortened season.
Hopefully, bowlers will be able to compete for the respective state championship disciplines.
