The inaugural arts and musical festival Under The Nest will be held at Winton Wetlands this weekend.
The festival is a combination of local and Melbourne artists, performers and food vendors and is bringing the best of Melbourne’s underground electronic music scene to the north east.
With only a few days away there is still time to buy your tickets.
Festival organisers Michael Tharratt and Liam Kendall said it would be a definite first for the Benalla district and an opportunity not to miss.
“Under The Nest celebrates the old and the new, bringing modern electronic music to the dusty and beautiful landscape of the Winton Wetlands," Michael said.
“The festival will run over Saturday and Sunday with overnight camping taking full advantage of grounds at Greens Hill. There will also be a community run BBQ breakfast in the morning.
“We have had a strong focus on engaging with the local community in our home town and have a large team of local volunteers, along with local artists, food vendors and hire companies.
“We are also excited about the number of people from elsewhere the festival will bring to town, and the injection this will provide to the local economy.
“We encourage people of all ages to consider grabbing a ticket and coming along, even if this is the kind of music they’ve never experienced.
“The space is about creativity, the chance to explore and listen to new things and just have some good fun in a beautiful location."
Featuring at the festival will be local artists Katie van Nooten, Mick Frewin and Edie Black who will be building a giant nest plus various pieces and installations from the likes of NEA's Michael Laubli and local sign writer Clinton Levy.
Local performers include Mount Mike and Liam Kendall from Benalla and Hamish Butler from Wangaratta.
Vendors will be providing a varied range of delicious food and drinks including One Wild Apple, Buyin’ Time, Spot 4 Coffee and Woodfire Delight. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
Please note under 18s must be accompanied by a supervising adult or they will not be granted admission.
