Nominations to recognise outstanding achievements and significant contributions made by Benalla CFA volunteers are being sought through the Spirit of CFA Awards.

Nominations to recognise outstanding achievements and significant contributions made by Benalla CFA volunteers are being sought through the Spirit of CFA Awards.

State Member for Euroa Steph Ryan said the awards were an opportunity to not only recognise but thank volunteers for the time and effort they give, year in, year out.

‘‘The brigades in the Benalla group are made up of so many passionate, dedicated and hard-working volunteers,’’ Ms Ryan said.

‘‘While they don’t do what they do for recognition, these awards are an opportunity to say thank you.

“You’d be hard pressed to find someone in our local area who is not directly or indirectly linked to a CFA brigade or someone who volunteers.

‘‘I encourage everyone to consider nominating a volunteer or team they feel has made a difference in their community.’’

Local communities, organisations, government agencies, brigades, districts and regions are encouraged to nominate individuals or teams for an award.

Categories include:

●Youth Award;

●Inclusion and Fairness Champion Award;

●Excellence in Partnership Development Award;

●Seniors Award;

●Excellence in Community Engagement Award;

●Excellence in Sustainability Planning Award;

●Living the Values Award;

●Excellence in Interagency or Group Cooperation Award; and

●Excellence in Innovation Award.

Nominations close Sunday, April 8.

●For more information, phone Steph Ryan’s office on (03)57621600.
