Benalla hosts championship

The North East District Croquet Associaiton (NEDCA) held a singles championship last week at Benalla Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

The North Eastern District Croquet Association held the 2018 Golf Croquet Singles Championship at Benalla recently.

A number of players from Benalla participated along with representatives from Wangaratta, Walla Walla, Beechworth, Twin City, Wodonga and Yarrawonga.

The winner of each of the three divisions is eligible to compete in the state event to be held at Cairnlea in Melbourne.

Benalla player Bruce Blay qualified in division two and Geoff Bath qualified in division three.

The overall winner on the day was Chas Quinn from Yarrawonga, taking out division one.

The next round of the Benalla Croquet Club’s Club Championship will be held on Thursday.

If you have an interest in croquet, or just wish to watch the game being played, Benalla Croquet holds club days each Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting at 8.30am for a 9am start.
