Perry Plex (goalie) deflects the ball on his left foot with assistance from Ella Downie with Alexandra White at the post.

Under-10

Under-10s had a friendly match against Euroa, with Euroa winning 3-0. Awards went to Amber Armstrong, Ayush Singh and Xavier Watson. Next week under-10s play SYC.

Under-16

The under-16 Tigers came out fighting against Mooroopna. The loss of Sean Stanley to injury last week saw Olly Gillies brave the field after only six games in under-10s, providing a well-needed bench.

Tyler Wright capitalised on a loose ball in the circle to score the first goal of the match. Mooroopna quickly replied with a strong push into goal from a short corner.

Benalla’s defensive line-up kept Mooroopna goalless for the rest of the period, clearing the ball to the half positions, where the wings and inners took the ball forward. Jonty Tyquin grabbed Benalla’s second goal in the circle just before half-time.

The highly contested second period saw both teams moving the ball well and strongly defending their goals, before Mooroopna tied the game.

Votes: Alex Dowe (3), Tyler Wright (2), Ella Downie (1). Coaches award: Jade Downie. Next week: Bye.

B-women

The Tiger women followed up with a 2-1 win over Echuca. Goals came from a great penalty corner deflection from Heidi Perry in the first half and a penalty stroke from Anna Wainwright in the second.

Votes: Heidi Perry (3), Mel Gillies (2), Rhonda Carpenter (1). Next week: Bye

B-men

The men a took on Echuca, with Willow Plex doubling up to make 11 players. It was a fast-paced game and Rob Dean, in his first game back, managed to score a goal. Unfortunately, Echuca outran Benalla to win 6-1.

Votes: Marty Gillies (3), Dave McIntyre (2), Alex Dowe (1).

Next week: Euroa at 2pm in Shepparton.
