Benalla Saints Mani Foubister taking the ball too fast for her opponents.

The girls travelled to Tatura with two new girls playing their first game, Greer Mitchell and Tiahna Fox.

Eighteen girls made up the team, which started quickly scoring four goals and five points in the first quarter.

Tatura girls fought on well but could not get a score. Several Benalla girls found the ball was being moved quickly and they were forced to use more handballs and kicks to avoid being tackled.

The Benalla girls are showing improvement, displayed through their skills during the win.

In the second half coach Ant Foubister moved several girls around to let them gain more experience and to give them more of the ball.

Final scores were Benalla Saints 13 goals 11 points to Tatura 0 goals 1 point.

The girls have won the past three games, with their next game set to be quite challenging.

Goal kickers this week were Tayissa Gray with 4, Madison Gray 3, Keeley Skepper 2, April Buka 2 and singles to Sarah Harrison and Scarlet Lowe.

The Saints’ girls’ youth side plays Sunday at the Gardens Oval. The carpark entrance is via Wedge St; starting time is 12.30pm.
