Goorambat ruckman Shayne McKean going up against Whorouly.

Despite not getting over the line against Whorouly, Goorambat put all it had into the clash at home on Saturday.

The Bats trailed the Lions from the first quarter, however five goals in the last quarter saw them finish the match strongly.

Head coach Shayne McKean said despite the loss he was pleased with how the team performed.

‘‘We started off slow but got going and played the best we have for the year,’’ McKean said.

Best for the Bats were Reaburn, Cook, Hernan, Smith, Webb and Knox.

Next week Goorambat will be looking to secure a win against North Wangaratta.

‘‘Next week’s another winnable game; hopefully we’ll get a few back into the side and get a win.’’
