Benalla Saints’ women’s team is back on the winners list defeating Rumbalara by 69 points on Sunday.
The Saints led at every change and restricted the home side to just two points for the match.
Caity Smith and Nat Pritchard kicked three goals, while Brittany Button was devastating across half back.
Beth Lewis made the most of her opportunity to play in the midfield, while captain Jayde Burden was again a driving force winning contested football and applying pressure across the ground.
Chelsea Bamford played her best game of the season at half forward, while Ally Ballard cherished playing majority of the game in the ruck.
Taylah Grubissa in her first game the Saints performed strongly.
Co-coach Kylie Relf, who played in the centre for majority of the match before going forward, was happy with her side’s performance against the league’s newcomers.
‘‘It was a really good game played in the right spirit,’’ Relf said.
‘‘We were able to use the ball well, particularly when we transitioned from defence to attack, and tried hard to control the ball through the corridor.’’
This Sunday, the Saints take on ladder leaders Echuca.
