On a week like this it is important to look after yourself, your pets, friends, neighbours and the community.
Make sure your pets have shade, a few sources of water and if possible keep them inside - if the indoor environment is cooler for the animal.
Give your relatives a call and see how they are doing. If you have an elderly neighbor pop by and check they are okay. If you see someone struggling with the heat when you're out and about ask if they're okay and get them some water if necessary.
Speaking of water, make sure you keep yourself hydrated. If you're working outside today take plenty of breaks and if possible knock off early.
Bear in mind that today is a total fire ban. If you need a cigarette make sure you extinguish it and dispose of it safely.
And please don't leave pets or kids in a car for any amount of time.
