If you are part of a group that has a great idea to help make Benalla better, bring people together or improve the lives of local children and young people then you are encouraged to apply.
Tomorrow Today chair Sally Gamble said each year the organisation gave grants to groups that had great ideas; who wanted to use their skills, give their time and work with others to make Benalla an even better place to live.
Rosie Koop named new Executive Officer of Tomorrow Today
“In 2019 Tomorrow Today awarded a grant of $1500 to the Warrenbayne Playgroup,” Ms Gamble said.
The funding allowed the group, which is based at the Warrenbayne Recreation Reserve, to purchase equipment, including art supplies, musical instruments, tables, chairs, books and puzzles.
Warrenbayne resident Mary Bridgland said the playgroup had become a great way to connect people.

“It brings children, parents and grandparents together in the context of our community,” Ms Bridgland said.
“The connections made through playgroup have a flow-on effect.
“You see families become more confident about participating in community activities.
“(And) we (have seen) more people coming to our Australia Day, Anzac Day, Midwinter Fest and Christmas Tree community events because friendships have developed.”

Ms Bridgland encourages anyone who has a project idea to reach out to others.
“It’s not just about getting funding,” she said.
“If you want your project to be sustainable and have longevity, you need support and networks and committed people around you.”
Tomorrow Today's priorities in 2020 include building a stronger, more connected community and improving the social and educational outcomes for Benalla’s children and young people.
