Benalla’s Michael Hausner will be the latest local to shave their head for blood cancer research as part of the World’s Greatest Shave.
A blood cancer survivor himself, Michael thought this would be a great way to give something back.
‘‘I know most will laugh at the few strands of hair I have to shave off,’’ Mr Hausner said.
‘‘But I’m holding on to these strands, so its a big deal for me to do this.
‘‘Having had a type of blood cancer myself, Hodgkin Lymphoma, at age 18 this is a way for me to give back while I can.’’
The shave took place at Hair at Holly’s on Bridge St last Thursday.
As this article went to press Michael had raised more then $1800, exceeding his $1000 target.
