The event is being hosted by Dennis and Gayle O’Brien at their home just outside Benalla with all proceeds being donated to the Friends of the Benalla Art Gallery.
Mr O’Brien, who is chair of the gallery board, said the idea came about after a chance encounter with Jojo in Violet Town.
‘‘We were looking for a way to raise funds for the Gallery,’’ Mr O’Brien said.
‘‘We had been to a few live events at North East Artisans, which were just great. And not long after that we attended a show in Violet Town that Jojo was headlining.
‘‘We talked to her after the show and said we’d like to have an event at our house.
‘‘We live just out of town and have a big house with a great deck and we thought it would be a really nice location for a fundraiser.
‘‘And luckily Jojo was happy to be a part of it.’’
The O’Briens are limiting the attendance to 60 people and will cover all costs, which will allow 100 per cent of ticket sales to be donated to the Friends of Benalla Art Gallery.
Therefore, the hope is that all tickets are sold, which will mean that $2700 will be raised for the gallery.
Jojo will play two sets on the evening with a break in between for attendees to enjoy a variety of Indian food, with vegetarian options available.
The fundraiser will take place at the O’Brien’s property on the Midland Hwy.
