Benalla police are urging the public to drive carefully after another three car crashes last week.

On a positive note, no-one was injured in any of the incidents, but it would appear that is more down to luck than judgement.
The first two collisions occurred on Tuesday, June 11, at intersections on Waller St, and both during school drop off and pick up times.
The first was reported at 8.55am on the corner of Thomas and Waller Sts.
Sergeant Karlyne Carr said a vehicle approached the roundabout from Thomas St, having just left a property nearby.
‘‘The driver basically just continued straight through the roundabout failing to give way,’’ Sgt Carr said.
‘‘An infringement notice was issued to the driver for failing to give way.’’
Later that day police were notified that another incident had taken place on the corner of Waller St and the Midland Hwy — although they did not attend that one.
Then last Friday, June 14, a car was involved in a single vehicle incident on Bridge St West.
‘‘A car towing a trailer has veered from the left lane onto the nature strip outside the Comfort Inn Motel,’’ Sgt Carr said.
‘‘It collided with a tree and came to rest blocking the east-bound lanes.
‘‘The driver, a man in his late 60s, stated that he couldn’t remember leaving the road. We believe this was down to driver error.’’
Sgt Carr asked the community to be mindful of other road users and pedestrians, and to take measures to ensure they arrive at their destination safely.
‘‘Be mindful of distractions, wet-weather road conditions, and reduced limits around schools,’’ Sgt Carr said.
‘‘Be patient when heading to work or dropping the kids off at school. Consider slowing down, ensure your vehicle is roadworthy, put your lights on in inclement weather and a offer bit of courtesy to your fellow road users.’’
There was also a truck crash which kept the Midland Hwy near Lima south closed overnight on Monday evening. Unfortunately we could not get comment from Benalla Police in time for this edition of the Ensign.
