Thanks to the tireless work of a Rochester Business Network subcommittee, fridge magnets, postcards, mugs, stubby holders and stickers are available at businesses around town after an agreement was signed with GrainCorp and the artist regarding the resale of the imagery.
And Rochester Community House co-ordinator Amanda Logie said they’re selling like hotcakes.
‘‘The stubby holders have sold really well, we suspect a lot were given as Christmas presents,’’ she said.
‘‘I’ve approached the pubs in town and hopefully every one will be stocking the stubby holders — any business in town is welcome to sell them, they just have to get in contact with the Community House and we can email them a form to complete.’’
But other stores have branched out, using the Crystie Lincoln Photography silo image on other items.
‘‘We have some stores in town who are making their own merchandise which was signed off by GrainCorp — it’s terrific,’’ Amanda said.
‘‘There are copyrights and so it can get a bit difficult, we ask that anyone who is planning on using the image for a profit to ask GrainCorp.’’
Amanda said the Community House was chosen as a distribution point as it was central and volunteers or staff were available to assist in the distribution.
‘‘As well as the silo merchandise, the Experience Rochester brochures are out now. We’re leaving about 10 at the silo sign-in book each day and we’ve been going through them steadily,’’ she said.
‘‘But if anyone’s heading to Boort, we need some way to get them to the spanner man over there.’’
The brochures have been distributed to Mildura, Swan Hill, Echuca and around the district.
‘‘There has been really positive feedback from them, which is fantastic for us,’’ Amanda said.
