For more than 15 years, Shepparton Fire Brigade area manager Anthony Deith has played a major role supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Inspired to get involved through experiences in his career, Mr Deith has also seen first-hand the amazing work undertaken by the hospital staff everyday.
‘‘Our youngest daughter Sophie has cerebral palsy,’’ Mr Deith said.
‘‘She was diagnosed when she was one.’’
Spending many hours at the hospital, Mr Deith said his daughter was always happy to make the journey.
‘‘They look after her and they make it a really relaxed and fun experience,’’ he said.
‘‘She is always keen to go, not afraid to go.’’
Mr Deith believed it was important to give back to the hospital to improve their facilities.
‘‘They’ve got some state-of-the-art facilities down there and if we can keep making them better then the future’s bright for the kids,’’ he said.
