Violet doesn’t crumble under pressure

By Benalla Ensign

A-grade

Violet Town got off to a good start this week against Longwood, leading at the quarter break 12-9.

Longwood came out of the quarter-time break strongly and put the pressure on Violet Town with some good shooting, though the Towners held their own to keep the slim three-goal margin at half-time.

In the third quarter Violet Town took back control of the game and steadied with some good movement and shooting to stretch the lead out to 12 before the final term.

And while Violet Town continued to move the ball well in the final 15 minutes of the match, the Towners tired, but comfortably held on for the win.
