Money well spent in Cohuna

COHUNA community groups will get a leg up through the Gannawarra Shire Council’s Community Grants Program.

Six events and 18 projects across the shire will share in $82,500 of funding, approved at this month’s council meeting.

Cohuna Uniting Church is set to receive $5000 to remodel their kitchens, which will see all new kitchen cabinetry, storage, bench tops, appliances, an instant hot water unit and non-slip vinyl flooring.

Cohuna Kangas Football Netball Club will receive $3382.12 to purchase a new oven for the Cohuna Recreation Reserve main pavilion.

Cohuna Little Athletics will get $1617.88 for an electric instant hot water system in their kitchen.

Donut fret, the money doesn’t stop there.

Cohuna and District Leos club will receive $1500 to fit new shelving in their donut van.

And Cohuna Neighbourhood house have been approved for $4500 for three events, a community barbecue, a community Christmas lunch and a town garage sale.

Council received 44 applications to the 2019 round of funding, applications for the next round of Council’s Community Grants Program funding will open in August 2020.
