The Finley Bowling Club raised $2157 for the local Can Assist branch at their fundraising event this month.

The money raised will assist this organisation to continue the good work of assisting those local people suffering with cancer problems.

Despite the cooler weather social bowls continues on Sunday morning.

Best card returned last week was from Geoff Trevorrow and Bob Poore. This event is open to all bowlers and those wishing to start bowling.

Tuition is always available and bowls can be supplied.

Ring Don McKellar for more information if you are interested in having a game.

Oaklands Club is holding its ‘Christmas in July’ tournament on Sunday. A representative team will be participating.

The final game in the Holy Shield will be held at Jerilderie on Sunday, August 4. Teams are being chosen and will be displayed on the notice board.

Nominations are being received for the upcoming Chaplin Pairs event on Sunday, August 17.

This event has proven to be popular and players from all neighbouring clubs are invited to enter a team.

Entries close on August 16 but early entries would be appreciated. This then assists with catering arrangements. Excellent prize money of $1000 has been allocated for the day.

This event is arranged to recognise the contribution made by Mick and Elaine over many years, to promote bowls as coaching and administration of the club’s activities.

Andrew Taylor will be returning to the club to supervise the preparation and presentation of the bowling greens. Bowlers are required to check the notice board for all coming events.
