An incredible fundraising effort has seen Benalla’s Shannon Train raise $3111.95 for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance by walking 10 000 steps a day in the month of September.
Shannon has been involved in "Steptember" for three years, and in that time, has raised close to $13 000 for the charity that supports her son, Rylee, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 18 months of age.
The family held a major fundraising day last month, which included a car wash and face painting, while also organising a raffle.
The Ensign’s Meg Saultry was on hand to draw the raffle last Friday, with winners including:
● Katie Bull
● Karen Guy
● Jasan Snoodyk
● Carol Alliman
● Tracey Berry
● Wayne Hocking
Shannon said she and her family appreciated everybody who had shown kindness and generosity towards the charity, which was close to the Trains' heart.
The Train family would also like to thank all the local and surrounding businesses that donated towards the charity this year: Benalla Signs & Designs, Spot 4 Coffee, Kookies by Katie B, Shannon’s Home Services, Beaton’s Silk Cut Meats, Face Painting by Cherry Princess, Benalla Printing, Jax's Auto Detailing, Kebab Boyz Benalla, Precision Event Management , Balloon Queen @ Precision Event Management, Zhen Hair On Carrier, Warehouse Cuts Benalla, Pictures of You Wangaratta, Oliver's Mensland, Goodyear Autocare Benalla, Jenny Milner Pharmacy, Rambling Rose Benalla, Sportspower Benalla, The Massage Shop Wangaratta, Royal Hotel Benalla, Woolworths Benalla, Benalla Bowls Club Inc, Lionheart Benalla , Coles Benalla , Priceline Benalla, Ryan & McNulty Sawmillers, Benalla Golf Club, Benalla Racing Club.
