The Goomalibee CFA held its annual Christmas celebration on Saturday with more than 150 people in attendance.
Goomalibee CFA Captain Peter Bailey said the event was also an opportunity to honour members of the brigade - with 12 awards handed out.
“We had Santa come along for the kids. We had a jumping castle and great food and drink,” Mr Bailey said.
“This year we decided instead of just doing a Christmas party we would hand out our CFA awards, so the community could be involved.
“Some of the highlights of those included Ron Heaney who got a 75-year service award.
“He’s been in the brigade since he was 15.
“Then there was myself and Maureen Cottam. We each got an award for 35 year's service and we also got life membership of the CFA.
“I've been Captain since 2005, and Maureen, whilst not being a firefighter, has been a brigade member for 35 years and her husband is a former captain.”
Several special guests attended, including State Member for Euroa Steph Ryan and CFA operations officer Paul Scragg.
They also held a raffle on the night raising $2500 towards a new concrete apron for the front of the Goomalibbe CFA shed.
