Christmas trees of remembrance

By Simon Ruppert

Benalla Health and Benalla Palliative Care Service are again inviting community-members to add a card to a Christmas Trees of Remembrance to celebrate loved ones who have died.

The trees have been hosted at Benalla Library and Benalla Community Care, and have been for more than 10 years, providing an opportunity to pay tribute to people and animals who are no longer with us, at a time when most communities are busy preparing for the festive season.

Those who have hung cards on the trees in the past have said that they value the opportunity to acknowledge those they have lost, while also including them in their Christmas festivities.

This year, the Christmas Trees of Remembrance are displayed in Benalla Library and at the Ray Sweeney Community Care Centre at Benalla Health.
