Bushfire concert set to raise funds for recovery efforts

By Benalla Ensign

Benalla Theatre Company has decided to share their talents for a one-off concert at Benalla Town Hall after being inspired to help with the bushfire recovery.

Hearing the news and knowing people personally affected, the company's Deb Patterson and Steve Winkler had the same idea – bring the Benalla community together for a show to lift spirits and raise funds for those in need.

Lifting spirits: Inspired to help those affected by the bushfire, Benalla Theatre Company will host an afternoon of musical numbers and comedy.

The afternoon concert is to be held on Saturday, February 1, from 2 pm. It will include classic musical numbers and comedy as well as a delicious afternoon tea.

Numerous members of the community have come on board to help with this afternoon of entertainment including Benalla Rural City, Bendigo Bank, and the Anglican Church ladies.

● Tickets – cash only – are available from outside the Bendigo Bank on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am until 4 pm in the lead up to the event.

Alternatively, you can phone Deb Patterson on 0428 322 390. Tickets may be available at the door on February 1, though it may be sold out by then, so get in quick.
