Due to a lack of certainty over what type of crowds will be permitted to attend events in October, the committee of the Benalla A&P Society has made the call to cancel this year's Benalla Spring Show.
Benalla A&P Society Vice-President Wendy Beer said the decision was not easy.
“The incredible strain that (this uncertainty) has been placed on our sponsors in the town we felt it best to not go ahead this year,” Ms Beer said.
“Since 1878 the Benalla Agricultural and Pastoral Society has been committed to running a spring show for the local community.
“Up until now, only war and flood has been responsible for preventing the show going ahead.
“Unfortunately, these are unusual times and our 138th show will now be held in 2021.
“To all our wonderful volunteer stewards, the local businesses and individuals who sponsor the show, exhibitors, stallholders and attendees, thank you for your support over the years and please stay safe.
“We will look ahead to holding the best show we can in 2021.”
