Nellie, a Bobinawarrah local, is one of many elder Australians who had to evacuate from their homes to escape the fires raging in nearby towns.

Finding refuge at Estia Health Benalla, Nellie was offered to stay at no cost, until the danger had passed and she was able to return home safely with her family.
Appreciating the care she received during her unplanned emergency stay with Estia Health, Nellie has now returned to the Benalla home for more respite.

“This is a good place, I was well cared for and enjoyed the food,” Nellie said.
“Nellie got on so well with all of the team, it was lovely to see her return,” Estia Health Benalla personal care worker Kellie said.
Tourism starts at home
“Nellie and her family were very pleased that they could utilise our ‘two for free’ respite offer again, despite already having free respite at the beginning of the year.”
And although she is not quite ready to move in permanently just yet, Nellie said she could see Estia Health Benalla as her future home.
