Bushwalkers look for River Murray barge

“A walk along the River Murray allowed us to observe the river red gums and surrounds,” John said.

“Walkers were keen to find the remains of a sunken barge used to transport goods in the paddle steamer days.

“Unfortunately water flows were too strong and high to spot the remains.

“Given the current border restrictions (we had to be careful) as technically the walk was, in places, in NSW as the boundary is the high watermark on the Victorian side.”
