The new online portal complements council’s community engagement activities, including face-to-face consultation, community meetings as well as continued communication through the local newspaper, direct mail, and via social media channels.
Council is seeking community feedback on three local projects:
Benalla Ceramic Mural Urban Design Concept
Have your say about improving access to the Benalla Ceramic Mural.
The Benalla Ceramic Mural Urban Design Concept Project aims to connect and deliver all-ability access with a footpath concept and landscape plan connecting Mair St, the mural and splash park.
This project is a priority to improve the accessibility of the area, with the new path designed to comply with Australian design standards for access and mobility.
The mural is a landmark icon in Benalla, and the proposed project includes plans for complimentary gardens that highlight the mural and the surrounding open landscape.
Feedback for the project is open until Friday, February 4.
Rural Township Plans
Council is calling for community consultation to help identify and prioritise key projects for rural townships within Benalla Rural City.
Share local knowledge and ideas on important issues within these townships to help provide a clear blueprint for future development.
Initially, council will work with the Thoona, Baddaginnie and Swanpool communities to create their township plans.
Its other rural townships will follow in early this year.
How council communicates with you
Council is committed to improving the way it communicates with its residents, ratepayers and business owners.
How do you want to hear from council? Do you want to get council news and updates differently, more efficiently, or more sustainably?
Feedback in this area is open until Friday, February 11.
