Sixteen vehicles responded to a grass fire in Murdoch Rd, just outside Rochester, on Friday that destroyed approximately 12 hectares of paddock.

A spokesperson said the CFA was notified of the paddock fire at 11.37am on Friday.
CFA vehicles and volunteer firefighters from Rochester, Elmore, Girgarre, Echuca Village, Lockington, Tongala, Cooma, Corop, Timmering, Bamawn and Kyabram fire brigades responded to the incident, supported by aircraft and support personnel and vehicles from District 20.
The scene was declared under control at 12.40pm, and at 3.30pm firefighters from multiple brigades were still blacking out the scene.
Forest Fire Management Victoria has arranged to fell dangerous trees and Powercor has been called to assess power pole damage.
