A Katamatite man has been charged with aggravated assault, break and enter, intent to inflict bodily harm, common assault, and intimidation after an incident in Barooga.
Police said the 28 year old man was known to the victims, and had been in a prior relationship with one of them.
They said the man had been attempting to locate his ex-partner, who was temporarily staying with a friend at her Barooga residence.
The woman arrived at the property on Saturday, and at 3.30pm the following day, the Katamatite man is alleged to have broken into the house, assaulted the home’s occupant and subsequently coerced his ex-partner into leaving with him.
The man then attended the Finley Police Station on Sunday, January 24, where he was charged.
He has since been released on conditional bail and is expected to appear in Finley Court next month.
