Managed by Finley Regional Care, the clinic is located next to Alumuna - an over 55s community in the heart of Finley - and will be replacing the existing medical centre in Dawe Avenue.
FRC CEO Ben Levesque said if all goes to plan, the new medical centre will be ready by the end of this year.
“It’s all moving along well,” he said.
“It is taking stage with the bricks and roof being added, the inside plaster is also up and we are getting very close to lock up stage.”
The build also includes a new power plant shed and upgrades to the power system, which will allow both the new medical centre and Alumuna to operate off the grid.
This upgrade will also allow Finley Regional Care to remove its facilities from the grid as well.
While difficulty in sourcing materials and trades is slowing down the process slightly, Mr Levesque said the centre is on track for its end of year completion.
“It’s been a slower process, but it is looking good and we’re excited to deliver a purpose-built building to the community very soon.”
Mr Levesque said there is still a bit more cladding to be installed, as well as the landscaping and car park to be built in upcoming months.
Once open to the public, the new centre will provide greater appointment capacity and services for the Berrigan Shire and surrounds.
“It will allow us to employ more doctors, provide more consults and host more allied health services,” Mr Levesque said.
The $2 million medical centre is partially funded by a $1 million grant from the Murray Darling Basic Economic Development Program.
FRC is covering the remaining costs.
