NANNEELLA florist Josie Haitsma's twist of the vine on traditional floristry will be more of a garden feel, something more natural than the manicured kind of the old days.

On August 24 Josie will open her doors at 5 Gillies St, Rochester, as The Little Green Florist, where she hopes to brighten every one of Rochester's days, not just Mother's Day and Valentine's Day.
"Floristry isn't just for special occasions, it's a simple way to spoil and bring happiness to the people you love," Josie said.
She's been interested in arts and crafts for a long time. In 2014 she pursued her passion and completed her trade certificate in floristry in Melbourne while working regular jobs. She also made floral arrangements for her friends' weddings - and her own.
"My shop provides a wide selection of indoor plants, pots and locally made gifts," she said.
"It offers a simple way to pick the perfect floral arrangement for your wedding, event or as a gift for someone you love."
Making weekly trips to Melbourne Flower Market for quality produce, Josie also stocks handmade gifts made by members of the community to sell in-store.
