Benalla Lawn took five sets throughout the match, but White took out the round after claiming a majority of games won, 56-54.
After running to a four-set-to-one lead early on, Benalla dropped the next three games.
But a final rubber win from Benalla's Pip O’Donoghue and Jake McDonald wasn’t enough to counter the close nature of the round's sets.
Euroa Lawn defeated Avenel Red, 6-63 to 3-42, on Saturday, winning four of the last five sets to take home the victory.
Euroa captain Rod Andrew led from front, winnings all three of his rubbers, while Christine Ellis was in good form, combining with teammates in two match ups to win 8-1.
Briodie Robinson's performance gave Avenel a boost, with Robinson winning two of club's three games.
Longwood Lawn had the bye in round six, but will return this Saturday to face Avenel White. Avenel Red will look to secure their first win of the season when they host Benalla Lawn, while Euroa Lawn have the bye.
Benalla tennis victorious in round five of summer season
● In division two, Euroa Rangers dominated bottom side Moglenemby, 7-67 to 2-33.
Moglenemby's Steven Hicks starred in his team's two winning matches, but it was Euroa's female contingent, featuring Julie Harrington, Rowena Ellis and Lynne Manson, who fired to win all their matches together.
Terip Terip caused the upset of the round, holding off top-of-the-table Avenel to win by the slimmest of margins - a set and a point (5-50 to 4-49).
Terip Terip flew out to a 4-2 lead, before Avenel leveled the scores by winning the first two mixed doubles matches.
Ending the day with a one-sided contest, Terip Terip’s Cindy Hayes and Robert Lawrence made quick work of Sandy Ezard and Lachlan Rutherford in the final match, winning 8-1.
Benalla Lawn beat close rivals Swanpool on Saturday, 6-61 to 3-43. After a level start, with both team’s winning two apiece, Lawn broke the deadlock to claim the next four rubbers and the match.
Benalla’s Janine Rofe, Mia Begley , Anthony Burgess and Tom Pitty combined to win the four matches, before Swanpool’s Meagan James and Colin Exton took one final set by claiming the final rubber of the day.
Heading into round seven this Saturday, Benalla Lawn host Avenel, Terip Terip will face off against Moglenembby, while Euroa play Swanpool.

● Benalla Gardens secured their second win in as many weeks in the division three competition, defeating top two side Euroa Lawn in a landslide.
The Gardens triumphed, 7-71 to 1-26, losing only one of its men's matches.
Benalla's Sheree Jackson stood up for her team, dominating in all her matches, while Matthew Gordon also had a day out, comfortably claiming victories in all three matches.
Violet Town couldn't overcome the might to top team Longwood Lawn, losing 3-44 to 6-62, while Avenel defeated Euroa Rangers, 7-68 to 2-33.
Avenel dominated proceedings, though the efforts of Euroa's Caroline Keenan helped her side to two sets, including a thrilling final match, 8-7.
Euroa will travel to Violet Town this Saturday to face off, Benalla Gardens play host to Avenel, while Euroa Rangers take on the challenge of Longwood Lawn.
