Grey clouds, cold weather and a light drizzling of rain didn't stop Mathoura Public School students from performing exceptionally at their annual athletics carnival in June.

Students displayed impressive determination, athleticism and sportsmanship both on the track and field.
As expected, every student gave their best effort in each event they entered.
Runners, jumpers and throwers displayed commitment and skill with some outstanding results achieved.
Mathoura Public School athletes were fortunate to have incredible support from the school community, with parents, grandparents, family and friends lining the sidelines to cheer them on.
There was plenty of action to keep spectators engaged with students participating in a range of track events, including the 800m, 200m, 100m, as well as field events.
The sub-junior children participated in a fun filled day which included taking part in track events, discus and a range of novelty events.
Gulpa was the winning house on 198 points, closely followed by Moira on 157 points.

Senior Boy Champion – Ethan Hadley.
11 Years Girl Champion – Matilda Eddy; Runner Up – Georgie Taylor.
11 Years Boy Champion – Chanze Egan; Runner Up – Jobe Unwin.
Junior Girl Champion – Leah Ellis,;Runner Up – Sophie Eddy.
Junior Boy Champions – Jonathon Moorse; Runner Up – Michael Krispyn.
Sub Junior Girl Champion – Bonnie Ellis; Runner Up – Zaria Wilson-Baker.
Sub Junior Boy Champion – Jimmy Hullah; Runner Ups - Charlie Hullah and Harry Schulz.
Special Congratulations to Sportsmanship Award winners Mia Vesty (junior) and Ava Wardlaw (primary).
Both girls were commended for their positive attitude through their events, and encouragement of their peers.
On the back of the carnival, 17 students have qualified to attend the Deniliquin District PSSA Athletics Carnival.
It will be held in Deniliquin on Friday, August 5.
