After a successful event in April amateur boxing will return to Cobram this weekend, with Cobram Fight Night Two set to be held.
Taking over the Apex Centre, local boxing fans will be treated to plenty of exciting action across the night.
A number of title fights will be headlining the event, with current Victorian Junior Welterweight champion Marcus Davis taking on Jake Hruz for his title, while Caleb Goesch will battle James Kirakham for a novice Victorian title.
Organiser Scott Maskell said it was exciting to hold the event again.
“It’s been a bit less stressful than last time,” Maskell said.
“It will be heaps bigger and heaps better I reckon.”
Maskell said that interest for this weekend’s event had already eclipsed the last, with 14 matches locked in and plenty of others wanting in on the action.
Held on April 30, the first Cobram Fight Night was a big success, drawing close to 600 people and Maskell was hoping for more of the same this time around.
“People can expect some great fights, great entertainment, great atmosphere and a good venue,” he said.
“I’ve got four title fights on."
A passionate boxing supporter, Maskell said he hoped the event would help grow boxing further in country Victoria.
He explained that with local Marcus Davis set to turn professional next year, things are only set to go further.
“Next year we’re hoping to get some pro-ams going,” he said.
Doors for Saturday’s event will open at 5pm, with fighters set to weigh in at 4pm and fights beginning at 6pm.
“Get down to the event, have some fun and watch some boxing,” Maskell said.
