Wednesday, June 8:
Men’s three-bowl pairs fielded a small field, but considering the arctic conditions the numbers were good, and the day was won by Daryl Wood and Sam King with three games and 75 points.
As there were insufficient players the Jackpot was not played for and remains at $60. Runners-up were Peter Jackson and Leon Sharp, two games 54 points.
During discussions after the days play some of the members suggested that the Wednesday goes open, the committee has decided that this will be voted on today (Wednesday, June 15) by the men bowlers as to which direction they will play for the rest of winter.
On Saturday, June 4, the open social bowls had a good field again in hard conditions with 15 playing Scrounges.
The winners in first were John Hart 42 points, second was John Langley on 40 points and third was Leon Sharp with 39 points.
