There were some strong passages of play which looked good and resulted in goals.
Waaia applied strong defence pressure and the Deni Rovers had to adjust their game play accordingly.

B grade: Deni Rovers 43 def Waaia 23.
A fantastic win from the Rovers against a very strong side.
This was the pressure game the Rovers really wanted and neither team disappointed.
From the get-go Natalie Sampson and Jemma Keast stood tall in defence with countless rebounds and intercepts.
Simone Lumbar and Carissa Bulmer were brutal, capitalising on any Waaia turnovers.
Brittany Kirby was tireless in the mid court and provided plenty of voice. Waaia didn’t give in and were effective confusing the space but Georgia van Lieshout, Madi Leetham and Sarah Purtill stuck to their game plan and Deni Rovers came away with a great team win.
Awards: Natalie Sampson, Jemma Keast and Carissa Bulmer.

C Reserve: Deni Rovers 36 def Waaia 29.
The Rovers came away with another win. It was a reasonably close match all four quarters. Concentration on the play allowed the home side to take advantage of the loose balls. The mid court were feeding the ball nicely into the ring, with the shooters getting most shots in and rebounding those they missed. All in all, the Rovers are working beautifully together.
Awards: Vicki Beames, Jemima Treble and Nikita Doyle.
Under 17s: Deni Rovers 50 def Waaia 18.
The Rovers had a really strong start and continued to build momentum as the game progressed. Once again the defensive pressure down the court led to the Rovers having multiple turnovers. Deni just needs to compensate on those turnovers, by slowing and steadying its play, to make sure they are converted into goals.
Awards: Erika Martin, Abbie Blake, Makayla Finn and Elena Mulham.
Under 15s: Deni Rovers 22 def Waaia 16.
An impressive win by the under 15’s Rovers team. The entire team backed each other and showed that they are versatile across the court. Reagan Behsman stood tall and stayed in front making it very difficult for the Waaia attackers. Little pocket rocket Aria Taylor was perfect at sticking to her opponent. Hazel Glowrey played a captain’s game showing strength, encouragement and skill. Eliza Atley showed versatility and adjusted well when changing positions.
Awards: Reagan Behsman, Aria Taylor, Hazel Glowrey and Eliza Atley.
