Katandra 30 defeated by Tungamah 66.
Coming off a disappointing lost last week the B Grade had a lot of work to do as a team. A reset in training methods and a refinement to the warmup showed, with all the girls coming out strong this week against Katandra.
The work that was done at training was evident in the game play. The increased communication and setups added much need flow to the court and the consistent encouragement kept spirits high. Defensively, Tiff and Maddie worked impeccably off each other in the ring and Kirby applied vital pressure in WD, resulting in multiple turnovers.
Leisa and Kara read the play well, seamlessly scoring many quick goals and working hard to pick up any rebounds while Ella’s speed and delivery was evident down the attack end.
The ever-present court side direction from Claire gave an edge and resulted in a lot more defensive pressure the whole way down the court.
Overall, the determination and cohesiveness demonstrated this week has put B Grade in a good position coming into finals.
Awards: Players player – Leisa, Coaches pick - Kirby and Oppositions pick – Victoria.

The fight to end the season in top 4 was bound to be a tough one. Katandra are always a strong competition, and it was no different on Saturday.
The girls put in a good first quarter, playing a smart game and adjusting to the Katandra tall defence. Amber put in her best 4 quarter effort showing when the game gets tough, she will excel.
The C Res will need this drive in the final series to go all the way. Disappointing result for the last home and away game, but the girls will put in the hard work to be ready to go first week of finals.
Awards: Bella Pelle – Amber Peachey, Free as a Bird – Jade Ralph and Aerial – Danielle Sidebottom.

The girls started off the day slow letting Katandra get a lead by first quarter. Shylee was chucked into defence for the whole game, proving how versatile she is as a player, creating many turnovers and working hard.
Dimity worked the ball well down the court, being aware of other players and driving into the space.
She also used lots of talk and encouragement towards the team. Vic was on fire all day with her shooting, getting it from any angle of the ring and really utilising every ball she got her hands to.
After the girls found their feet halfway through the game, they put in a fight for the last half but were unlucky to not get those four points.
With having no team to verse next week, the Under 15s aim to take away some key parts of their game and break it down, ready to improve and come back stronger for the finals.
Awards: Fish and chip - Shylee (player’s player), Tunga Shop – Vic & Crusty Loaf - Dimity (player’s player).

The tween Bears certainly gave the crowd some heart stopping moments in this game with the lead changing continuously throughout the game.
All areas of the court were tightly contested with lots of pressure from both teams. Emily read the play well and made it difficult for her opponent to get near the ring.
Brooke kept the pressure on her opponent and caused many turnovers. Chloe moved well in the midcourt and created space and was an option when needed to move the ball down the court.
Awards: Tungamah Shop - Emily and Brooke, Crusty Loaf – Chloe.
