Registrations are now open for a free women’s-only business start-up program called Sister School that will run in Benalla each Thursday during March.
It will be held in the Benalla Town Hall meeting room from 9.30am to 2.30pm, starting tomorrow (March 1).
The program is free but you must register before the start date. Global Sisters first offered this program in Benalla last March.
Organisers are delighted to again offer Sister School program as part of Benalla Rural City Council’s Entrepreneurship Month.
The Sister School program provides the practical knowledge and support needed to start or grow a business in Australia.
It is designed for women who want to plan for a strong financial future, improve financial stability or be less reliant on welfare services.
The program is perfect for women who have a start-up business that is growing or an idea that they would like to turn into a business.
Graduates of the 2017 Sister School in Benalla are now building a range of micro-businesses.
One of the graduates from last year’s program, Anneleis Doecke, will return this year in the hopes of starting her business with kambucha and fermented products.
‘‘I attended the program last year and was immediately empowered and inspired by the other women who attended,’’ Ms Doecke said.
‘‘I wasn’t sure about starting my own business before I attended but I realised it was possible with the support and guidance I received and was motivated by the chance to control my own finances.
‘‘The course helped break down the steps I needed to do and I should have my own business up and running by spring next year.
‘‘I encourage all women to attend who are inspired to start their own business.’’
