The initiative is part of Australia Post’s 2022 Local Business Heroes program which aims to support small businesses who demonstrate unique and valued connections to their community.
The “Heroes Package” can provide incentives such as increased exposure through Australia Post’s networks and exclusive access to business coaching services.
Echuca Moama Tourism chief executive Kathryn Mackenzie said this was a fantastic opportunity for regional businesses to gain some recognition for all the positive work that they had contributed to the community.
“This is certainly a great opportunity for small businesses to put their hand up for a $5000 package generously donated by Australia Post.”
Ms Mackenzie urged businesses from throughout the Campaspe Shire to consider nominating themselves.
She said local businesses within the Campaspe Shire had come together time and time again to improve the community through various projects and fundraisers.
“Many of our small businesses within the region are incredibly community focused. They are often assisting community groups and the social needs of the community,” Ms Mackenzie said.
“Businesses within Campaspe are very generous and provide much support to many community causes. They often do this selflessly and it is not well recognised by the broader community.
“During the last two years of the pandemic, many of our businesses have come together and raised much-needed dollars to support important projects that assist the community.”
Ms Mackenzie said this could be the boost that many business owners might need to make their businesses stand out.
This year about $285,000 is set to go towards outstanding small businesses who are dedicated to making a difference.
Nominations are open until Friday, March 25.
