Pet deer kills owner - update

Wangaratta Police have released a statement on the incident in Moyhu this morning that led to the death of a 46 year-old man.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a man in Moyhu this morning.

Emergency services attended a rural address where it is believed the 46-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were attacked by their pet deer on their property around 8.20am.

A neighbour called 000 after hearing the incident.

The man died at the scene.

The woman has been airlifted to a hospital in Melbourne with life-threatening injuries and remains in a critical condition.

Police euthanized the deer due to concerns for the paramedic’s safety on scene.
